The annual Tavistock Relationships Autumn Conference this year focused on the key area of Questioning Difference - Cross Cultural Issues in Couples and Couple Psychotherapy.

A packed room heard a range of ideas about the challenge of relationships that span cultural difference. Keynote Speaker Lennox Thomas, gave a fascinating insight into his experience in the field, covering:

  • the prejudice and miseducation that might be at risk of being brought into intercultural relationships
  • the importance and centrality of childhood development and attachment in all couple relationships across cultures
  • the need to help couples to recognise their childhood patterns of relationship

Other speakers included Dr. Reenee Singh. Tavistock Relationships was represented by Perrine Moran, Naomi Mwamba and Dr David Hewison (Chair).
